Your Responsibilities
The Student Community Officer is responsible for creating a unified and vibrant student experience across all five UE campuses. This role builds and implements a comprehensive framework for campus life, oversees student leadership programs, and ensures consistent engagement strategies. The officer will coordinate with local teams to deliver events, foster community, manage budgets, and monitor student satisfaction to deliver an exceptional student journey.
Key Activities & Responsibilities:
Campus Life Framework & Leadership Programs
- Lead Campus Community Initiatives: Develop and implement a comprehensive Campus Community Plan with Campus managers including campus life activities across all campuses, ensuring consistency and unity and collaboration across student groups.
- Serve as Program Coordinator for the Peer Leader Network and Student Council, overseeing recruitment, training, and ongoing support.
- Facilitate effective student council by ensuring transparent elections and compliance with university regulations.
- Support Student Associations: Work with campus managers and student representatives in planning and executing initiatives that enhance community engagement and creating a wide range of opportunities and communities that cater to diverse student interests at the local level.
- Coordinate with campus managers and their teams to implement event planning and monthly events calendar management at the local level, ensuring a balanced mix of academic, social, and cultural activities.
- Support campus managers to build a consistent student experience during Orientation Week and graduation activities, networking sessions, and student activities, promoting a sense of belonging for new students.
- Support with event logistics including venue booking, catering, technical support, and guest coordination when required.
- Develop and monitor event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning and financial accountability with campus managers.
- Foster a vibrant student community through clubs, societies, and peer-led initiatives.
- Support and advise student clubs and societies, helping them manage events and align activities with university policies.
- Evaluate & Improve: Collect and analyse data on event engagement, attendance, and feedback to continually enhance the student experience.
- Act as a liaison between students and departments (Academics, Student Services, Student Success Centre, Finance) to enhance the overall student experience.
- Provide guidance and resources to student organizations for event planning and compliance with university policies.
- Active member of the student health and wellbeing working group.
- Liaise with Marketing: Work with the Marketing department to capture and promote campus events through various channels, including social media.
- Contribute to a consistent communication strategy across all campuses, from onboarding to graduation.
- Ensure all messaging is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with university priorities.
- Promote Diversity & Inclusion: Ensure that all events and activities celebrate diversity and promote an inclusive campus environment.
- Oversee the design and distribution of campus activities materials for events and student community.
- Adhere to university branding standards across all internal communication channels (intranet, MS Teams, email, newsletters).
